Bundren was appointed interim principal in December 2023 replacing Marc Mavigliano, who was named Community Schools Director.

“I’m so excited for the students, staff, and parents of Lone Oak Intermediate to have Tim Bundren leading their school as principal.  I want to thank the SBDM council for their work and unanimous support of Mr. Bundren,” said Superintendent Josh Hunt.  “We all agreed that his work ethic and passion for student success make him the right person for this job.”

Bundren started his career in education with the Marshall County School District in 2008. He was a teacher at North Marshall Middle School from 2008-2018. In 2018, he became the Assistant Principal at Lone Oak Intermediate.

"I am extremely humbled and grateful to be named the Principal of Lone Oak Intermediate and to lead such an outstanding group of staff and students,” said Bundren. “I've genuinely grown to love my staff, students, and community over the last five and a half years. Thank you to my staff, SBDM, and the district leadership team for entrusting me with this incredible opportunity to help equip our students to learn, grow, and change the world. Go Flash! Go McCracken!"

Bundren has a bachelor's degree in physical education and a master's degree in school administration from Murray State University.
