Ms. Leonard assumes her role as Assistant Principal, succeeding Tim Bundren, who was recently appointed Principal at Lone Oak Intermediate.

"I am pleased to announce that Mrs. Sara Leonard has been appointed as the new assistant principal of Lone Oak Intermediate School. Mrs. Leonard is an outstanding candidate for this role due to her genuine love for people and unwavering focus on putting kids first,” said Bundren. “She holds a great affection for the LOI staff, students, and community. She is committed to working tirelessly to ensure that every person under her guidance develops in Grit, Growth, and Grace."

Leonard boasts 16 years of teaching experience. She embarked on her career in 2007 in the Marshall County School District as a Learning and Behavior Disorders (LBD) teacher. From 2009 to 2021, she served in the Graves County School District as an LBD teacher before transitioning to McCracken County Schools in 2021 as an LBD teacher at Lone Oak Intermediate. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Learning and Behavior Disorders and a Master of Arts in Education degree from Murray State University. She also possesses a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from the University of the Cumberlands.

The students, staff, parents, and community are incredible,” said Leonard. “This is an exciting journey, and I am eager to see what the future holds. It's a great day to be a Lone Oak Flash and a McCracken County Mustang!”
