On Thursday, March 21, The Paducah McCracken Retired Teachers Association
(PMCRTA) held its annual award ceremony for the “AARP/KRTA Kentucky Grandparent
of the Year” essay contest. Charley McGregor - a 5th grader from Concord Elementary
was announced as the county winner, her grandparent - Joy Weiner from Ft. Myers, FL.,
and 5th Grade Teacher - Mrs. Cristie Wooten were also recognized. Charley’s essay
also won at the district level and has been entered in the state division for the final leg of
the competition.
