Keile Phillips Named New Director of Exceptional Children Programs

Phillips joins McCracken County Schools from the Mayfield Independent School District. She succeeds Dylan Sonnek, who was appointed Assistant Principal at McCracken County High School in April.

"We are thrilled to welcome Keile to our team.  She brings a vast array of experiences to this role, most recently serving as Special Education Director for Mayfield Independent Schools,” said Assistant Superintendent Michael Ceglinski.  “I'm excited for the contributions Keile will make in advancing the success of our students in McCracken County Schools."

Phillips began her educational career in 2003 as a special education teacher in Marshall County Schools. In 2009, she joined the Graves County School District in the same role and transitioned to assistant principal at Central Elementary School in Marshall County in 2016. Since 2022, she has served as the Director of Special Education and Preschool Director for the Mayfield Independent School District.

“I am thrilled to embark on my new journey with the McCracken County School District! My diverse experiences have prepared me for this exciting challenge, and I can't wait to collaborate and work closely with the dedicated staff,” said Phillips.  “While I have big shoes to fill, I am determined to leverage my background to support our teachers and staff, driving our students toward excellence in McCracken County!”

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Spanish, a Bachelor of Science in Learning Behavior Disorders and Elementary Education, and a Master's degree in School Administration, all from Murray State University. In 2023, she earned her Doctorate of Education in Administration Leadership from Western Kentucky University.
