The McCracken County School District is pleased to announce the appointment of Jon Reid as the new Director of High School Instruction. With an extensive background in education and administration, Reid brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to serving both students and teachers.
Reid has dedicated his career to education, beginning as a World Civilization teacher at Mayfield High School from 1999 to 2001, followed by a similar role at West Jessamine Middle School from 2001 to 2008.
Reid's administrative experience is extensive and varied. He served as Assistant Principal at Hendron-Lone Oak Elementary from 2008 to 2009, where he managed student discipline, coordinated testing, and supported teacher development. In 2009, he became the Assistant Principal and Instructional Coach at Lone Oak High School, focusing on curriculum development and teacher mentoring.
In 2011, Reid was named Principal at Heath High School, where he implemented successful school improvement initiatives and fostered a collaborative school culture. When McCracken County High School opened in 2013, Reid transitioned to the role of Assistant Principal, contributing to the establishment of the new school's operational and academic frameworks. For the past 10 years, Reid has been the Principal at Hendron-Lone Oak Elementary, where he has overseen significant improvements in student achievement and school climate.

Reid holds a Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Kentucky and holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History/Political Science from Georgetown College.
