The McCracken County School District is proud to announce the appointment of Wes Orazine as the new Chief of Campus Police. With over three decades of experience in law enforcement, leadership, and school safety, Orazine brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to this critical role.
A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Orazine served for over six years, where his law enforcement career began. In 2001, he joined the Paducah Police Department, gaining extensive field experience and advancing through the ranks to retire as Captain in August 2020. Following his retirement, he continued serving the community as a Patrol Deputy with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office before taking on the role of School Resource Officer and Attendance Specialist for McCracken County Schools.
Throughout his distinguished career, Orazine has held numerous leadership roles, including serving as Honor Guard Commander, SWAT Commander, Police Training Supervisor, Patrol Sergeant, and Captain. His extensive experience in operations management, team leadership, and law enforcement strategies will greatly enhance the safety and security of McCracken County Schools.

Orazine’s commitment to professional development is evident in his extensive training, including completion of the Academy of Police Supervision, Criminal Justice Executive Development, and FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association leadership courses. He has also earned multiple commendations throughout his career, including five Service Commendation Awards, three Life-Saving Awards, and the 2019 Chief’s Award.
“I am honored to take on this role as Chief of Campus Police,” said Orazine. “Ensuring the safety of our students and staff is my top priority, and I look forward to collaborating with school leadership, law enforcement partners, and the community to create a secure and supportive learning environment.”
Orazine will be working with current Chief of Police, Austin Guill, to ensure a smooth transition. His position will officially begin on July 1, 2025.
