The McCracken County School District is pleased to announce that Coye Elliott has been named as the Director of Personnel, effective July 1.
Elliott brings a wealth of experience and proven leadership to this new role, having served in various capacities over the course of his career. He began as an agriculture teacher at Lone Oak High School in 2007 and continued teaching agriculture at McCracken County High School until 2015. That same year, he transitioned into administration, serving as Interim Assistant Principal at McCracken County High School before moving to Graves County High School, where he served as Assistant Principal from 2015 to 2019.
In 2019, Elliott returned to McCracken County to take on the role of Principal at Lone Oak Middle School. Under his leadership, the school has seen significant growth and achievement, most notably earning a blue rating on the 2024 Kentucky Summative Assessment. This distinction placed Lone Oak Middle School as the ninth-highest scoring middle school in the state of Kentucky, a testament to Elliott’s focus on academic excellence and schoolwide improvement.
Elliott’s credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Education in May 2007, a Master of Science in Agriculture in May 2009, and a Master of Science in Administration in May 2012, all from Murray State University. Elliott has also participated in the Leadership Institute for School Principals, further enhancing his capacity to support staff, mentor educators, and drive continuous improvement at the district level.
In his new role as Director of Personnel, Elliott will oversee human resources functions for the district, including recruitment, hiring, staff support, and personnel development.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to serve as Director of Personnel in McCracken County,” said Elliott. “It’s been a longtime goal to support all three communities. I’m passionate about public education and helping students grow into lifelong learners who give back to our community.” Elliott added, “I’m so thankful to the Lone Oak Middle School family for welcoming us over the past six years. It’s been an incredible experience.”
Superintendent Josh Hunt praised Elliott’s leadership and dedication, saying, “Coye Elliott has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student achievement and staff growth throughout his career. His ability to lead with integrity, build strong relationships, and foster a culture of excellence makes him an ideal fit for this role. We are excited to welcome him to our central office leadership team and look forward to the positive impact he will have on the future of our district.”
