Concord Elementary School's fifth-grade students participated in a Service-Learning Project this holiday. CES 5th Graders responded to a community need by giving time and energy to things our students can directly affect while modeling positive behaviors that strengthen and build others in positive ways. 5th Grade Teacher Lyndsie Dempsey said, "Unfortunate circumstances can affect anyone, causing families to become displaced and find themselves without a home to call their own. Sadly, people experiencing the trauma of Homelessness are a uniquely underserved population in our region." At Concord, our 5th-grade students immediately found a way to help this population directly! Concord's 5th Grade Class partnered with Paducah Cooperative Ministry to collect toiletry and cleaning items for PCM's Fresh Start Village. Fresh Start Village is limited to single women and mothers accompanied by children. PCM also works to assist anyone in a homeless situation. Over 300 donations were collected and given to PCM's Fresh Start Village guests and other families experiencing Homelessness. #McCrackenProud
