Charley McGregor was the school winner of the Grandparent Essay Contest sponsored by the Paducah/McCracken Retired Teachers Association and AARP Kentucky. Following this, her essay was sent to compete at the county level, and she was selected as the winner from Paducah and McCracken County Schools. After winning at the county level, Charley’s essay went on to compete and win at the district level. As the winner of District One, Charley will advance to state for the final leg of the competition. She was honored at an award ceremony on Thursday, March 21.
