On Wednesday night, the McCracken County Mustangs wrestling team returned to action as they hosted a tri-state meet at Strawberry Hills Pharmacy Arena. The meet saw competition from a pair of out-of-state opponents, with Harrisburg (IL) and Sikeston (MO) paying the Mustangs a visit.

The Mustangs dropped their first match of the evening to Sikeston, with a final team score of 40-30. Malachi Grey, Frankie Nutt, and Taylor Stroud all picked up victories by pinfall in the opening set of matches.

Facing Harrisburg in the second match of the night, the Mustangs again fell, this time by a score of 54-29. With pins from Nutt, Gray, and Bryce McTaggarty, as well as a technical fall victory from James Barragan, McCracken at one point held a team lead of 29-18. However, a late run of six straight pins gave the visiting Bulldogs the overall victory.

The McCracken County wrestling program returns this Saturday, as the Mustangs travel to Caldwell County for the Armstrong Duals, with the meet set to begin at 10 a.m.
