McCracken County hosted St. Mary for an afternoon of tennis. With the First Region tournament less that one month away the chances of Wednesday’s pairings facing off again are high.
As hosts and First Region powerhouse, McCracken County claimed the win; 4-1 on the boys side of play and 5-0 on the girls side.
The lone win for the Vikings on the afternoon came for Rex Roof over Luke Braboy with scores of 7-5, 7-5. McCacken County ran the table from there.
Rounding out boys singles play, Asher Shanks downed Keller McCabe 6-1, 6-2 and Conner Campbell defeated Lanie Fearon 6-4, 6-2.
In doubles play, Hutch Crabtree and Hayden Taylor defeated Lucas Lea and Henry Wright 6-1 and 6-0. Aaron Lundberg and Holden Hagan also defeated Hunter Korte and Ridley McCabe 6-0, 6-0.
On the girls side, Sophie Hollowell brought the clean sweep against Ava Cambell, 6-0, 6-0. Pratha Patel defeated Nora Flint 6-1 and 6-0 and Kennedy O’Neal beat Elly Mowers 6-0, 6-3 to round out singles play.
In doubles competition, Cassidy Parker and Alex Poore defeated Mason Clements and Olivia O’Neill 6-1, 6-1 and the duo of Amelie Lundberg and Mariane Puertollano beat Meredith Paxton and Audrey Sims 6-0, 6-2.
