The Class 3A First Region track and field meet took place this past Tuesday at Marshall County High School. With the track and field drawing to a close, this was the last chance for athletes to earn their spot at the state championship meet in Lexington, with the top two finishes from each event advancing.
In total, McCracken County will have athletes featured in 19 different events at the state meet and Marshall County featuring athletes in 17 different events. More athletes from both school and Graves County have the potential to qualify pending a full results from across the state.
Additionally, the McCracken County Mustangs boys team took home the regional title and their girls team finishing as runners-up. Opposite both teams, the Marshall County boys team took the runner-up team spot and the Lady Marshals claimed the team title.
The Class 3A State Championship meet will take place on Saturday, June 1 in Lexington.
