On Saturday morning, Paducah Tilghman golf hosted their annual invitational, welcoming schools from across the region to Paxton Park.

After 18 holes in the boy's competition, the Marshall County Marshals came out with the victory in team competition, while McCracken County's Landon Hunt shot even with 71 strokes, birdieing a three-way playoff hole to win the individual competition.

Hunt birdied the final hole of his round to finish with his mark of 71 strokes, creating a three-way tie with Marshall County's Ryan Stokes and Paducah Tilghman's Evan Hack. With the three competing in a shootout, the tournament was decided with only one hole, as Hunt birdied the 16th hole to set himself apart at the top, with Hack and Stokes each recording a par to tie for second.

"I started off a little shaky, actually, I three-putted the first hole and wasn't looking too great, had a bad break on four, was two over there, but I got it back together around the turn, made some birdies, and birdied that last hole to get into the playoff," Hunt said.. "I was able to settle in on the playoff hole, hit a good second shot and was able to just roll the putt in. Overall it was a solid day, of course there were some moments that could've been better, and some that could've been worse, but I think I did well for the most part."

Named alongside Hunt, Hack, and Stokes to the "All-Tournament team" was Peyton Toon of Paducah Tilghman, who both shot 2-over-par 73 and Trigg County's Haydon Reynolds shooting 3-over-par 74.

Shifting focus to the overall team competition, the Marshall County Marshals came out on top, finishing with 303 total strokes. Led by Stokes' aforementioned even round, Nolan Hurst and Brooks Lamb each shot a 77, with Paxton Carter and Andy Jones shooting 78 and 85 respectively.

"Our guys had a really great day out there today. A couple of our guys struggled early, but really figured it out on the turn, going a couple strokes over on their first holes, but shooting under par on their later holes," Marshall County head coach Travis Ross said. "Ryan [Stokes] has been great for us, he's shot pretty consistently in the 70's every time he's come out this year, a par round is a really solid day, we're proud of him today. We're really looking forward to the second half of the season here, hopefully we can keep it up and stay playing well. We're looking for Ryan, Paxton, and all these guys to keep shooting good scores, and go into regionals and semi-states with good rounds."

Just trailing Marshall County on the team leader boards were the hosts, Paducah Tilghman, finishing with 305 total strokes. In addition to Toon and Hack's scores of 73 and 71, Whitson McNeill shot 78, Gray Edwards finished with 83, and Ford Black shot an 88.

Finishing third overall, led by Hunt's winning round was McCracken County, totaling 312 strokes on the round. Tanner Kight finished his morning shooting 78, with Jack Farmey just behind him at 80 strokes. Rounding out the scores for McCracken's A-team were Dallas Vinson and Brently Gregory, shooting 83 and 84, respectively.

Completing the overall top five in team competition was Daviess County in fourth with a total of 322 strokes, while Owensboro Catholic finished a single stroke back in fifth with 323.

Other teams from the First Region fielding teams in the tournament included Mayfield (344), Murray (345), Graves County (368), St. Mary (372), Ballard Memorial (387), and Christian Fellowship (496).
