McCracken County High School is excited to announce the appointment of Donnie Heath as Assistant Principal. Heath brings extensive experience and a strong commitment to educational excellence, making him a valuable addition to the school’s leadership team.
Heath has been a dedicated educator at McCracken County High School since July 2020. During his tenure, he has taught AP U.S. History, U.S. History, Human Government and Geography, and led In-School Detention and multiple Success Labs. His leadership experience includes participation in the McCracken County Schools District Leadership Academy for the 2022-2023 academic year.
Prior to his time at McCracken County, Heath served as a teacher at Marshall County High School and North Marshall Middle School. His roles included teaching history, leadership, and Spanish, as well as sponsoring the yearbook and various student clubs. He has been recognized for his contributions to student leadership and community engagement.
In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Heath has held numerous coaching positions. As the Boys Soccer Head Assistant Coach at McCracken County High School, he helped lead the team to multiple district and regional championships and earned accolades for academic and athletic excellence. His previous coaching roles at Marshall County High School further demonstrate his leadership capabilities and commitment to student development.
His educational background is distinguished by his advanced certifications and degrees. He holds a Level Two Principal Certification for all grades, obtained in May 2022. Heath also earned an Education Specialist degree as an Instructional Leader - Principal from the University of the Cumberlands in December 2021. He further holds a Master of Arts in Education as a Teacher Leader from the same university, achieved in December 2018, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Murray State University, completed in May 2014.
