McCracken County Public Schools is proud to announce that 14 outstanding students have been selected to attend the highly competitive Governor’s School for the Arts (GSA) this summer.
For more than 30 years, GSA has guided Kentucky’s most promising young artists through three weeks of intensive — and incredibly fun — instruction led by professional artists and educators. Students are selected through a rigorous audition process in one of nine disciplines: Architecture and Design, Creative Writing, Dance, Drama, Instrumental Music, Musical Theatre, New Media (Still Photography and Film), Visual Art, and Vocal Music.
This year’s program will take place at the University of Kentucky, where students will reside on campus and immerse themselves in a demanding schedule of daily seminars, master classes, lectures, hands-on workshops, and interdisciplinary experiences. While each student focuses on one primary art form, they will also explore other artistic disciplines, broadening their creative perspectives.
We are thrilled to recognize the following McCracken County High School students who were selected for the 2025 GSA program:
Carson Chesnut – Musical Theatre
Isabella Galloway – Visual Art
Ashlyn Garner – Drama
Brennen Hartman – Vocal Music
