MCHS Student Government will be hosting a DANCE BLUE mini-marathon! (A fun-filled night of dancing, activities, food, and fun!) Saturday, February 17, 2024 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm Help SGA reach their donation goal for the Golden Matrix Fund! https://bit.ly/donatedancebluemchs "DanceBlue is a University of Kentucky student-run organization that fundraises year-round and culminates in a 24-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon. All the money that is raised through DanceBlue is donated to the Golden Matrix Fund, established to support the kids of the DanceBlue Kentucky Children's Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic." The Golden Matrix Fund was created to benefit the DanceBlue KCH Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic patients and families. Childhood cancer not only affects the child physically, but it also creates many emotional and financial difficulties for the entire family. The goal of the Golden Matrix Fund is to provide care and support for the kids by bringing comfort to both patients and their families.

"I Am the Dream" Scholarship Opportunity Apply today for your chance to be awarded one of two $1,000 scholarships that will be announced in February 2024! REQUIREMENTS: • You MUST be an African-American high school graduating senior at McCracken County High School who plans to enroll in full-time courses at an accredited university, community college or trade/apprenticeship by no later than the Fall semester (2024) • You must have a GPA of at least a 2.5 • You MUST submit a brief, typed narrative stating what receiving the “I Am the Dream” scholarship will mean to you and how it will help you accomplish your future goals • The student MUST agree to the publicizing of this award should they be selected as recipient of the scholarship (i.e., social media, press release, newspaper outlets, radio etc.). • There will be two $1,000.00 scholarships awarded per school year from MCPS community partner CFSB (Community Financial Services Bank).
